The Assessment Specialist is responsible for completion of annual clinical assessments and intakes for new cases. Upon assessment, initial referrals are made to all appropriate internal programs. Demonstrated ability to complete all intake documentation thoroughly including but not limited to consents for treatment, releases of information, biopsychosocial assessments and preliminary plans. Timely and skillful handoff to the Case Manager is required to ensure development of a Person-Centered Plan. As a secondary function, this position provides case management coverage to support during a period of staff leave.

Qualifications
Must possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social or behavioral health. Person must have police and DHS clearance. Must have a minimum of one-year experience in quality, including but not limited to auditing, monitoring, reporting, etc., preferably in community mental health or managed care setting. Additional requirements include: strong interpersonal skills; establishing rapport and ability to develop relationships with team members and external stakeholders; demonstrated written and verbal skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand; strong organizational and time management skills as well as multitasking abilities; ability to perform in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment; ability to effectively prioritize and organize one’s own work to meet deadlines; high level of confidence, professionalism and proactive decision-making skills; demonstrated Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative. Preference for candidates with CARF experience as well as licensure in the State of Michigan in good standing and ability to achieve the criteria for a Children’s Mental Health Specialist, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional and Qualified Mental Health Professional within 60 days of hire.
Position Summary
The Quality Specialist is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and educating the PsyGenics team to meet contract standards and ensure high quality services are delivered to our members by trained and competent staff. The position also requires providing education and coaching to PsyGenics team members regarding performance expectations for service provision and delivery, safety standards and other training related to best practice.
